September brings together several major tax deadlines: payment of the real estate wealth tax, collection of your remaining income tax, and the online publication of property tax statements. Missing any of these dates exposes you to a surcharge.
Here are the key tax dates in September 2026, and what each one means for your situation.
| Date | Deadline |
|---|---|
| 15 September | 9th income tax instalment, 9th monthly instalment, IFI payment (non-digital) |
| 19 September | Property tax statements published online (monthly payment) |
| 20 September | Online payment of IFI and income tax |
| 25 September | Collection of your remaining income tax |
| 30 September | Last day to opt for payment on the due date (property tax) |
15 September 2026
It is a busy day for several payments:
- 9th monthly instalment of income tax (withholding tax): this applies to individuals whose income is not subject to a “collector” — self-employed persons, members of liberal professions, farmers, owners with rental income, or recipients of maintenance payments.
- 9th monthly instalment for taxes you have chosen to pay monthly, such as property tax, housing tax on a second home, or real estate wealth tax (IFI).
- Final deadline for paying the IFI, if you do not pay by a digital payment method.
Good to know: this deadline may in some cases vary depending on your situation. In that case you will receive your statement the month before, showing the date that applies to you.
19 September 2026
Property tax statements are published online for people who have chosen monthly payment.
20 September 2026
Two important deadlines for those who pay online:
- Final deadline for the real estate wealth tax (IFI), if you use a digital payment method (online payment, smartphone, tablet, payment on the due date, or monthly payment). The amount will be debited from your account from 25 September onwards.
- Final deadline for online payment of your income tax and your social contributions, if the amount is not already debited automatically. Here too, the bank transfer will take place from 25 September onwards.
25 September 2026
What happens to your remaining income tax depends on the amount:
- More than €300: the amount is spread over four instalments, from 25 September to 28 December 2026.
- €300 or less: the full amount is debited in one go, on 25 September.
30 September 2026
Last day to choose payment on the due date for your property tax, whether you do so online or via the contact centre.
